Product & Care
We only use 18K solid Gold, nothing gold-plated, silver or vermeil. Every item is hand-made with the finest gemstones to give you the quality you deserve! All our raw materials are conflict-free and we use eco-friendly packaging to have as little impact on the environment as possible.
At Bahia we carefully select each diamond we use on our fine jewellery. We mainly work with natural diamonds. When it comes to custom-made pieces and to diamonds larger than 0.3cts we are in contact with the client and you get to pick the diamond you prefer, certified by GIA or HRD.
When lab-grown diamonds are requested for a unique custom-made piece or used in a ready-to-buy piece from our collection, it will be clearly stated that it is a lab-grown diamond and you will receive it with a GIA certificate.
We have a detailed size guide in the product section of key items: Rings, necklaces and bangles. If you are still unsure about your size, get in touch with us and we will walk you through it! If the size chosen ends up being too big or too small we can fix it. Exception: Eternity rings cannot be resized.
Of course! If you have a request for customization of a specific piece get in touch with us and we will work on the design and cost for you. In case of minor changes or engraving contact us when the order is placed and we can accommodate for your request free of charge.
It is mainly the metal composition: While solid-gold jewelry is made of a gold alloy that is consistent throughout the piece, gold-plated pieces are made of a non-gold metal that is just covered with a thin film of gold. That's why solid gold is said to be made to last forever: - Scratches less - Doesn't wear out easily - Doesn’t oxidize or discolor - Will forever keep its value!
We only use Zircon and NOT Cubic Zirconia (these are often confused as being the same).
Zircon is a natural gemstone popular for an astounding optical splendor that resembles a diamond.
Cubic Zirconia is a diamond simulant, it is lab-created crystalline zirconium dioxide (ZNO2). It is cheaper in value than Zircon.
Soaking is the key: soak your gold jewelry pieces for 3 hours with non-abrasive jewellery wash (or dish detergent) and then scrub them gently with a very soft brush. Rinse under clean water and dry with a cloth. For an extra shine, use a jewelry polishing cloth after this!
Store your gold jewelry separately. It’s important to make sure your pieces of gold jewelry don’t touch any other jewelry when they’re being stored. Because gold is a soft metal, it can easily scratch or bend out of shape if it comes into contact with other pieces of jewelry. If you don’t have enough space to store each piece separately, try wrapping each piece in a soft cloth. Hang up gold chains if possible. This prevents them from getting tangled; trying to untangle gold chains can easily break them.
Yes you can! Water does not affect the metal itself but the stones' shine can get affected. So every now and then, give your jewellery some TLC to remove anything that might have deposited on the gemstones from soap to dead skin (instructions above) so they continue shining like the first day you bought them.
Do not wear your Jewellery to the pool, chlorine and other chemicals can discolor gold.
We have two workshops, one in Beirut Lebanon where the majority of our pieces are manufactured and another in Italy. Both partners follow our ethical principles for conflict-free materials and are experts in high quality jewellery making.
